Position Overview
The Purchase Executive will be responsible for managing end-to-end material procurement operations across multiple locations. This is a field-based role requiring strong on-ground coordination with suppliers, shops, banks, and the production facility. The role plays a key part in ensuring timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining effective vendor and plant coordination. Key Responsibilities 1. Material Loading & Unloading
Supervise and manage loading and unloading of materials at supplier locations and plant premises
Ensure safe and efficient material handling to avoid damage or loss
Verify material quantity and quality during dispatch and receipt
Coordinate physical movement of materials as per plant requirements
Handle official documents provided by the office for submission to banks and other organizations 2. Market Rate Enquiry & Vendor Sourcing
Conduct regular market surveys to identify competitive material rates
Maintain updated records of prevailing market prices
Identify and develop new suppliers for cost optimization and reliability
Compare quotations and support procurement decisions 3. Supplier & Plant Coordination
Liaise with plant teams to understand material requirements and production schedules
Coordinate with suppliers on delivery timelines, quality standards, and payment terms
Communicate dispatch details and delivery status to the plant and office team 4. Documentation & Record Maintenance
Maintain accurate records of purchase enquiries, quotations, and procurement activities
Document material loading/unloading details and material receipt reports
Ensure proper filing and tracking of procurement-related documents Work Profile
Nature of Work: Field-based role involving regular travel
Primary Location: Gummidipoondi Plant Facility
Secondary Locations: Supplier shops and local markets in and around Chennai
Travel Radius: Within 50 km of Chennai
Working Hours: As per company norms (typically 9:00 AM 7:00 PM, Monday to Saturday) Physical & Functional Requirements
Ability to work in outdoor and field conditions
Capability to supervise and assist with material loading and unloading
Comfortable with extensive local travel and on-ground coordination Required Qualifications Education
ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or any relevant technical discipline Experience
1 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or vendor management
Prior experience in industrial or manufacturing procurement is preferred Location Preference
Candidates residing in or around Redhills, Minjur, Ponneri, or nearby North Chennai locations preferred
Strong knowledge of local supplier markets and routes
