Responsible for purchasing all materials, components, and services required for automobile manufacturing. Source and procure

sheet metal components

, fabricated parts, welded assemblies, and related hardware used in vehicle production. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for sheet metal, machining, fabrication, casting, and other automotive components. Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings while maintaining required quality standards. Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications to ensure correct procurement of sheet metal parts and other components. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Planning, and Design teams to ensure timely material availability and avoid line stoppages. Maintain daily follow-ups with suppliers for delivery schedules, shortages, and priority parts. Prepare and release purchase orders, maintain supplier records, and manage all documentation in the ERP system. Conduct supplier visits to check manufacturing capability, tool availability, and process compliance for sheet metal fabrication. Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery, pricing, and capacity utilization. Develop new vendors for sheet metal items, brackets, frames, chassis parts, and other auto components. Support cost-reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing, VA/VE, and material optimization. Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, quality standards, and audit requirements. Utilize good communication, negotiation, and technical understanding to manage the entire procurement cycle effectively.
