Key Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors for

automation components

such as sensors, PLCs, drives, motors, pneumatic/hydraulic items, panels, and control accessories. Prepare and float

RFQs

, compare quotations, and negotiate best prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions. Create and process

Purchase Orders (POs)

in line with approved budgets and technical requirements. Coordinate with

sales, project, and engineering teams

to understand material specifications and project timelines. Track order status, follow up with suppliers, and ensure

on-time delivery

of materials. Ensure proper documentation including POs, delivery challans, invoices, and vendor compliance records. Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor databases, and inventory coordination. Handle material discrepancies, quality issues, shortages, and return/replacement follow-ups. Support cost optimization initiatives and alternate vendor development. Ensure compliance with company policies, GST requirements, and statutory norms.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in

Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration

(preferred). 2-5 years of experience in

procurement/purchase

, preferably in

automation, electrical, or industrial sectors

. Strong knowledge of automation products and industrial buying processes. Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Proficiency in

MS Excel, ERP systems

, and purchase documentation. Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet project deadlines. Good understanding of GST, logistics, and inventory coordination.

Preferred Skills

Experience with OEMs and authorized distributors (Siemens, Festo, Schneider, ABB, etc.). Exposure to project-based purchasing and BOQ-driven procurement. Analytical mindset with cost-saving focus.
