2. Supplier Sourcing & Vendor Development
Identifies reliable suppliers for chemicals, textiles, and imported materials.
Ability to assess vendor capability, reliability, production capacity, and delivery performance.
Develops alternate suppliers to reduce risk.
Maintains a structured supplier database with updated rates and performance history.
3. Negotiation & Cost Management
Conducts price comparison, cost analysis, and rate finalization.
Negotiates payment terms, delivery schedules, freight rates, and discounts.
Understands cost structures for chemicals, fabrics, and imported items.
Supports cost-saving initiatives through vendor competition and bulk sourcing.
4. Purchase Order (PO) & ERP System Management
Creates and maintains POs in ERP/Tally/SAP systems accurately.
Ensures correct item codes, quantities, tax structures, and delivery dates.
Tracks open POs and ensures timely closure.
Maintains procurement documentation for audit and compliance.
5. Quality Compliance & Material Inspection Coordination
Coordinates with QC for pre-shipment samples, approvals, and batch verification.
Ensures chemical materials match COA/TDS parameters.
Ensures textile materials meet product specifications (GSM, color fastness, stitching or finishing standards).
Manages rejected materials and replacement agreements with vendors.
6. Import Procurement Knowledge
Understands import documentation: PI, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, COO, MSDS/COA, HS Codes.
Basic understanding of Incoterms (FOB, CIF, EXW), import duty, taxation, and customs processes.
Coordinates with clearing agents for shipment clearance.
Tracks international shipments and ensures timely arrival.
7. Logistics & Transportation Coordination
Coordinates domestic transportation for chemicals and textile raw materials.
Understands transporter selection, freight negotiation, and route planning.
Ensures compliance with hazardous transportation rules (if applicable).
Tracks shipments and ensures timely delivery to warehouse or production.
8. Inventory Awareness & Demand Planning
Monitors stock levels, re-order points, and consumption patterns.
Aligns procurement with store requirements and production forecasts.
Avoids stock-outs and excess inventory.
Understands lead times for chemicals, textiles, and imported materials.
9. Market & Industry Awareness
Tracks price trends for chemicals, fabrics, and import goods.
Studies market fluctuations, supplier performance, and seasonality impacts.
Identifies new suppliers and emerging sourcing regions.
10. Communication & Coordination Skills
Coordinates effectively with Production, QC, Stores, Finance, and Logistics teams.
Maintains timely follow-up with suppliers, transporters, and import agents.
Handles conflict resolution and delivery-related issues professionally.
11. Problem-Solving & Analytical Ability
Addresses delays, shortages, quality deviations, and supply disruptions.
Performs root-cause analysis for recurring vendor issues.
Suggests improvements for procurement workflow and vendor performance.
