Key Responsibilities
Procure grocery and FMCG products as per store and sales requirements
Coordinate with suppliers, distributors, and vendors for pricing, availability, and timely deliveries
Negotiate purchase prices, credit terms, discounts, and schemes
Create and track purchase orders and follow up on deliveries
Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory
Verify quality, quantity, expiry dates, and batch details of received goods
Maintain accurate purchase records, invoices, and GRNs
Coordinate closely with store, warehouse, and accounts teams
Track market trends and price fluctuations for cost optimization
Ensure adherence to company policies and food safety standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Graduate in any discipline
1-3 years of experience in grocery, supermarket, or FMCG purchasing
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
Good understanding of grocery categories and fast-moving items
Working knowledge of MS Excel and POS apps/systems (stock tracking, basic formulas)
Good communication and coordination skills
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experience in modern trade, supermarkets, or retail chains
Familiarity with inventory software / POS systems
Local vendor network in and around Mohali is an advantage
