Purchase Engineer
who can handle engineering procurement and vendor development activities independently.
Job Responsibilities:
Procure
engineering materials
such as fabricated parts, machined components, bought-out items, spares, and tooling
Understand and interpret
engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs
Coordinate with
Design, Production, and Quality
teams for technical clarifications
Identify, evaluate, and develop
vendors
based on technical capability and quality
Prepare and issue
Purchase Orders (POs)
as per technical and commercial requirements
Negotiate
price, delivery schedules, and payment terms
Ensure timely material availability to meet
production and project schedules
Follow up on pending orders and resolve
technical or quality issues
Support
cost reduction, localization, and alternate vendor development
Maintain procurement records, MIS, and documentation
Assist in
vendor audits and performance evaluations
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of
engineering procurement
Ability to read and understand
mechanical drawings and specifications
Familiarity with
manufacturing processes
(fabrication / machining / assembly)
Experience in
vendor development and technical negotiation
Knowledge of
quality standards and inspection requirements
Good communication, coordination, and negotiation skills
Qualification:
Diploma / B.E / B.Tech
in
Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Related Engineering
Salary & Benefits:
