Job Description

Job Summary:

A Purchase Engineer specializing in Mechanical and Electrical Procurement is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring components, materials, and equipment required for engineering, production, and maintenance activities. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Planning:

Understand project/material requirements from engineering and production teams. Prepare and manage purchase schedules for mechanical and electrical items.

Vendor Development & Management:

Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for mechanical and electrical products. Maintain and build strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality and delivery.

Negotiation & Cost Control:

Negotiate price, delivery terms, and payment conditions with vendors. Analyze quotations and prepare cost comparisons to ensure cost-effective procurement.

Purchase Order Management:

Prepare purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely release and acknowledgment. Follow up on delivery schedules and resolve any order-related discrepancies.

Quality & Compliance:

Coordinate with the Quality and Engineering teams to ensure procured items meet required specifications. Ensure purchases adhere to organizational policies and industry standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation. Generate periodic reports on purchase status, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

Qualifications:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

. 2-5 years of experience in procurement or purchase engineering. Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors preferred.
