Purchase Engineer

1. Job Objective



To ensure timely procurement of quality materials, components, consumables, and services required for aluminium formwork production and projects at competitive costs, while maintaining vendor relationships and compliance with company standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

l Procurement & Sourcing

1. Identify, develop, and manage vendors for

aluminium formwork panels, extrusions, scaffolding, fasteners, and consumables

.

2. Float enquiries, obtain quotations, and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.

3. Negotiate prices, credit terms, lead times, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.

4. Issue purchase orders (POs) and track timely deliveries.

l Vendor Management

1. Develop vendor base (local and international) for

raw materials like aluminium billets, sections, anodizing/finishing services, hardware, and construction consumables

.

2. Conduct supplier audits in coordination with quality and production teams.

3. Maintain approved vendor list and update vendor evaluation records.

l Coordination & Documentation

1. Coordinate with

Production, Planning, Stores, and Projects

for material requirements.

2. Ensure stock levels are maintained as per

minimum inventory norms

.

3. Monitor purchase requisitions (PRs) in ERP system and close them within TAT.

4. Handle import documentation (LC, BOE, customs clearance) for imported aluminium and accessories.

l Cost & Compliance

1. Achieve annual purchase cost reduction targets through negotiations, alternate sourcing, and supplier development.

2. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, Customs, Import-Export policies).

3. Prepare monthly MIS reports (PO status, cost savings, vendor performance, pending PRs).

3. Key Skills & Competencies



Strong knowledge of

aluminium formwork systems, scaffolding, and related hardware

.

Understanding of

supply chain management, import/export, and logistics

.

Negotiation and vendor management skills.

Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally ERP).

Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills.

Analytical mindset and cost-conscious approach.

4. Qualification & Experience



B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical / Production / Civil Engineering

(preferred).

2-5 years of experience

in purchase/procurement in

formwork, construction equipment, or Aluminium extrusion industry

.

Exposure to

imports (China, Middle East, etc.)

will be an added advantage.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



On-time availability of material.

Purchase cost savings vs budget.

Vendor performance index (Quality, Delivery, Cost).

Compliance with procurement process and documentation.

Reduction in lead time and inventory cost.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
