Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring mechanical equipment, spare parts, and fabrication items required for sugar plant operations, maintenance, and expansion projects. Ensures cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, and quality compliance with engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and procure mechanical items such as mill spares, gearboxes, pumps, boilers, turbines, evaporators, and piping materials.
Prepare and float RFQs (Request for Quotations), compare quotations, and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
Coordinate with maintenance, projects, and production teams to define material specifications and delivery timelines.
Develop and maintain a vendor base for mechanical and fabricated components.
Ensure procurement aligns with budget, quality standards, and lead time requirements.
Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain purchase records, supplier performance data, and cost analysis reports.
Work closely with accounts for supplier payments and documentation.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ISO standards.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of sugar plant mechanical components and systems.
Vendor development and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of procurement systems and ERP software (SAP, Tally ERP, etc.).
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Qualification & Experience:
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
1 to 2 years of experience in mechanical procurement, preferably in the sugar or process industry.

Job Summary:
Handles procurement of raw materials, fabricated components, machinery spares, and consumables for manufacturing and fabrication operations. Responsible for vendor management, cost optimization, and ensuring material availability to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Procure raw materials such as MS plates, pipes, structural steel, fasteners, and fabrication accessories.
Source and negotiate with vendors for fabrication jobs, machining works, and sub-contracting.
Prepare purchase orders based on project BOMs and production requirements.
Evaluate technical offers in coordination with design and production teams.
Conduct vendor audits and ensure quality compliance of supplied materials.
Maintain minimum stock levels and track material consumption.
Liaise with logistics for timely material delivery.
Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities and supplier improvement areas.
