:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchase Engineer with a strong background in electrical contracting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of electrical materials, equipment, and services to support project execution. This role demands excellent negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and a thorough understanding of electrical systems and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Planning:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with project schedules and budget requirements.
Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors and suppliers for electrical materials and equipment. Build long-term relationships to ensure reliable sourcing.
Negotiation & Cost Control:
Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effectiveness and high-quality standards.
Material Management:
Coordinate with the engineering and project teams to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials as per specifications.
Inventory Oversight:
Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely purchases to avoid material shortages or overstocking.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, safety standards, and statutory regulations. Maintain complete procurement records.
Market Analysis:
Stay updated with market trends, new technologies, and alternative suppliers to maintain a competitive edge.
Coordination:
Work closely with site engineers, project managers, and finance teams to streamline material flow and manage procurement budgets.
Requirements
:
B. Tech or BE in Electrical Engineering.
8-10 years of proven experience in purchase/procurement within the electrical contracting industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical materials, components, and industry standards.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in ERP software and MS Office tools.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Understanding of project-based procurement cycles.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with government/industrial/commercial electrical projects.
Familiarity with import procedures and logistics (if applicable).
Certification in supply chain management or materials management is a plus.
