We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Purchase Assistant
with hands-on experience in FMCG product procurement to support our purchasing operations. The ideal candidate should have strong vendor coordination skills, good market awareness, and the ability to manage daily procurement activities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Purchase Manager with end-to-end procurement of FMCG products.
Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and distributors.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
Prepare purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and ensure timely stock replenishment.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the store/warehouse team.
Analyse market trends, price fluctuations, and product availability.
Maintain purchase records, contracts, and vendor databases.
Coordinate with the accounts team for invoice verification and payment follow-ups.
Ensure all purchases comply with company standards and quality requirements.
Assist in weekly/monthly purchase reports and budget tracking.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum
3 years of experience in FMCG purchasing
(mandatory).
Strong understanding of FMCG product categories and supply chain.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Good knowledge of purchase procedures, vendor management, and cost control.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and inventory management software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
