Deliver an accelerated Punjabi-language program that enables children with no prior exposure to
read, write, and speak
basic Punjabi within eight months. You will design fresh lesson plans, adapt SAF's existing curriculum, and create a joyful classroom atmosphere that celebrates Punjabi and local cultures.
Plan & Deliver Lessons
- Create weekly lesson plans that balance literacy (Gurmukhi script), vocabulary, conversation, songs, and stories.
Curriculum Development
- Tailor or enhance existing SAF materials; introduce games, art, and multimedia to suit different learning styles.
Student Assessment
- Track progress with simple reading, writing, and speaking benchmarks; provide monthly reports.
Community Engagement
- Communicate with parents/guardians and local schools to encourage practice outside class.
Training & Collaboration
- Share best practices with other SAF educators; attend monthly check-ins in Nepalgunj.
Administration
- Maintain attendance records, inventory of learning aids, and basic budget tracking.
Qualifications & Skills
Fluent Punjabi speaker
with strong command of Gurmukhi reading & writing.
Prior experience teaching languages to children (ages 6-14 preferred).
Proven ability to build creative, resource-light lesson plans.
Culturally sensitive; able to work with diverse ethnic communities in Nepalgunj area.
Basic English or Nepali for staff communication is an asset.

Compensation & Working Hours
Competitive local salary (commensurate with experience) paid monthly.
Standard teaching load: 5 days/week, ~25 teaching hours + prep time.
All learning supplies provided by SAF.
