Job Title: Pump Operator - Mechanical Department

Department: Mechanical Maintenance

Reports To: Mechanical Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Location: Industrial Growth Centre, Industrial Road, Phase II Siltara, Sondra, Chhattisgarh 492001

Job Summary:

The Pump Operator in the Mechanical Department is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining pump systems and related mechanical equipment used in industrial processes. The role includes routine inspections, performing basic maintenance tasks, and ensuring optimal operation of mechanical systems to support production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor pumps, valves, compressors, and other mechanical systems. Conduct regular inspections of pump stations and mechanical components to ensure proper functioning. Perform routine lubrication, alignment, and minor maintenance on pumps and mechanical systems. Report and log equipment performance, malfunctions, and maintenance needs. Assist mechanical fitters and technicians during overhauls and major repairs. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pump house and related areas. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and company policies. Support emergency shutdowns or start-ups as required. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., electrical, instrumentation) for integrated maintenance work. Record all readings and data into logbooks or computerized systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Mechanical or related field. 2+ years of experience in operating industrial pump systems (preferred). Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, seals, bearings, and lubrication techniques. Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and operation manuals. Familiarity with safety practices in an industrial environment. Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy components. Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
