Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated

Pre-Treatment Operator

to join our powder coating team. This role is responsible for preparing metal parts and surfaces prior to the powder coating process to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality. The ideal candidate will have experience with surface preparation techniques, chemical handling, and working in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform cleaning, degreasing, rinsing, and chemical treatment of metal parts Operate and maintain pre-treatment systems such as wash tanks, spray booths, or dip lines Inspect parts for cleanliness, rust, oil, or other contaminants before and after treatment Mix, monitor, and maintain proper chemical concentrations and temperatures in treatment baths Rinse and dry parts thoroughly to prevent spotting or poor coating adhesion Use hand tools, pressure washers, or automated equipment for surface preparation Handle and transport parts safely through the pre-treatment and coating process Follow safety protocols when working with hazardous chemicals and equipment Document pre-treatment steps and quality checks according to company standards Assist with general maintenance and cleanliness of pre-treatment area Coordinate with powder coating operators to ensure smooth workflow and production timing

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred Previous experience in metal finishing, powder coating, or industrial pre-treatment processes is an asset Understanding of chemical safety, PPE use, and MSDS requirements Ability to operate lifting devices such as hoists or forklifts (certification is a plus) Strong attention to detail and quality control Capable of working in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, bending) Able to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines Good communication and teamwork skills
