The Psychology Lab Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining the psychology laboratory, assisting in research and academic activities, ensuring proper use of psychological testing materials and equipment, and supporting faculty and students in experimental and practical work.
Key Responsibilities:
? Laboratory Management: Maintain and organize lab resources, ensure proper functioning of equipment, and assist in updating SOPs for usage and safety.
? Research Support: Assist faculty and students in conducting experiments, behavioural studies, and cognitive assessments, including EEG, biofeedback, and psychometric testing.
? Test Administration: Manage inventory of psychological tests, support student training in test administration and scoring, and ensure ethical compliance.
? Technical Support: Taking printouts of lab manuals and other relevant records. Knowledge to operate psychological apparatus and testing tools.
? Record Keeping: Maintain records of materials, equipment usage, lab schedules, accession logs, and attendance.
? Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, maintain lab safety protocols, and coordinate with the ethics committee for research approvals.
? Other supportive activities: To support in handling paper bundles during examinations, getting additional answer sheets and other requirements during examination. To participate in examination, evaluation duties and other administrative duties assigned to lab technicians in common.
