The Psychology Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in child therapy, learning from licensed clinicians while supporting treatment and assessment efforts. This role will involve direct interaction with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams, and it provides the opportunity to observe and participate in therapeutic interventions, assessments, and case consultations. The intern will receive supervision and feedback throughout the internship to foster professional growth and clinical competence.
Key Responsibilities:
Therapeutic Support:
Assist licensed therapists in the delivery of individual and group therapy for children and adolescents using evidence-based techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Behavioral Therapy).
Data Collection:
Observe and document client behavior, treatment progress, and assessment results. Assist in compiling reports and developing treatment plans.
Family Support:
Participate in family therapy sessions or parent consultations, helping families understand their child's emotional and behavioral needs.
Case Consultation:
Attend team meetings, case discussions, and supervision sessions. Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and other professionals involved in client care.
Educational Outreach:
Assist in developing educational materials for clients and families. Engage in community outreach activities to raise awareness about mental health resources for children.
Administrative Duties:
Support the administrative team with scheduling, client intake, maintaining records, and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.
