Job Description

A PRT (Primary Resource Teacher) English teacher is responsible for teaching English language skills to young students, typically in the primary school grades (1-5). This role focuses on developing foundational literacy skills, including reading, writing, and speaking, while also fostering a love for language and literature. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Delivery:

Planning and delivering age-appropriate English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and educational standards. This includes incorporating grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and creative writing.

Instructional Materials:

Developing lesson plans and creating engaging instructional materials to support the curriculum.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Assessing student progress through various methods like tests, assignments, and projects, and providing constructive feedback.

Classroom Management:

Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment while maintaining classroom discipline.

Student Development:

Providing individualized support and guidance to students, addressing their specific learning needs and fostering their love for language.

Communication:

Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, and collaborating with other teachers and school staff.

Extracurricular Activities:

Participating in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and other activities related to English language learning.

Professional Development:

Staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in English language teaching and attending relevant professional development workshops.
