The PRT Computer Teacher will be responsible for teaching basic computer skills to primary students, introducing them to computer fundamentals, digital literacy, and safe internet usage. The teacher will create engaging lesson plans suitable for young learners and ensure they develop confidence with technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach computer fundamentals, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), typing skills, and basic coding (Scratch/Block coding).
Prepare age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for primary classes.
Introduce students to digital safety, cyber ethics, and responsible internet use.
Conduct practical computer sessions in the lab and ensure proper student engagement.
Prepare worksheets, assignments, and projects to reinforce learning.
Monitor and maintain computer lab equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
Assess student performance and maintain progress records.
Support school events, exhibitions, and IT-related activities.
Coordinate with other teachers and school administration for academic planning.
Maintain discipline and a safe, positive learning environment in the computer lab.
Skills & Competencies Required:
Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals and basic programming.
Good classroom management skills.
Ability to teach young children with patience and clarity.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Understanding of digital safety and cyber hygiene practices.
Creativity in designing interactive computer-based learning activities.
Qualification:
Graduation in Computer Science / BCA / Diploma in Computer Applications / Equivalent.
B.Ed. or relevant teaching certification preferred (not mandatory but an advantage).
