Job Description

An Assistant Teacher supports lead teachers in classroom instruction by helping prepare materials, supervising students, assisting with lesson implementation, and providing individualized support. The role is vital for maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare classroom materials and set up equipment before lessons. Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and reinforcing material in small groups or one-on-one settings. Monitor and support student behavior, ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom. Supervise students during lunch, recess, field trips, and other non-classroom activities. Help with grading assignments, maintaining records, and tracking attendance. Provide extra support for students with special needs or learning challenges as directed by the teacher. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and colleagues regarding students' progress.
Skills and Qualifications

Good communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward children. Strong organization and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices. Prior experience in a classroom or educational setting is often preferred.
