Job Title: Infrastructure Solution Design Manager (Associate)

Location: Pune

Overview

This role is for Infrastructure Solution Designer in the Business Technology Integration team. The team is responsible for the co-coordination and delivery of technical design solutions in response to requests from all DB business areas for new Information Technology infrastructure or changes to existing infrastructure. Designers are an integral part of the team that provides successful technical design aligned to our Group CIO Technology Roadmap. Designers also provide technical guidance to business requestors and IT project teams and consult with individual infrastructure groups within Technology to ensure operational supportability and acceptance for all new projects. Senior Designers play a lead role particularly in Designs which are complex and business critical.

Role & Responsibilities

• Understand the requirement from requestor end to end, align the requirement to agreed Infrstructure strategy, follow the design principle and guidelines, evaluate the optimal option, to suggest appropriate infrastructure
• The review of logical application architectures, map these to known logical and physical infrastructure standards to create an End-to-End design that meets business and operational requirements
• Act as a gatekeeper to review the request for infrastrucre (Server / storage) requirement can be delivered or not as per DB standard guidelines and strategy
• Discuss with DB internal clients / business and define the infrastructure requirement
• Ensuring that client requirements are accurately captured and solutions provide a detailed end to end technical solution that is clearly documented and accurately priced (Quality check)
• Regular reporting to management with improvement in process and design
• Responsible to provide infrastrutcre solution design (medium / complex) to DB internal clients
• Coordinate with various stake holders (Engineering, application architecture, product team etc) to evaluate the right possible option wherever applicable
• Evaluation of different options and opportunities to leverage shared environments and virtualisation by using approved and applicable products
• Ensure compliance with the Technology Roadmap for each project
• Support team members as necessary in designing appropriate infrastructure solutions
• Ensure that all projects are efficiently governed utilising the appropriate standards, plans, methods and processes
• Driving discussions with DB business lines and individual technical groups of all corporate levels to own and resolve issues related to a project's technical design
• Tripartite agreement on standards and catalogues with DB Engineering and vendors
• Manage and control the managed service design team for low level design
• Quality check for low level design prepared by design team members
• Regular management report generation

Essential Professional and Technical Skills:

• 5 years + experience in designing solutions based on the following technology fields:

• UNIX/LINUX Platform including Apache/J2EE applications
• Wintel Platform including IIS/.NET applications
• Virtualisation (such as VMWare, Solaris Containers)
• Database Architectures (such as SQL Server or Oracle)
• SAN / NAS Technologies (including Disaster Recovery solutions)
• Clustering (Such as MSCS, VCS, RAC)
• Network Infrastructure design and policies
• Middleware Technologies
• exposure to and some experience in IT/application deployment/implementation management

• Exposure to trading technology, Low latency application infra setup, cloud technology design
• Experience delivering infrastructure designs and solutions to agreed standards in a large multi-site Financial Services or Investment Banking organisation
• Proven ability in managing a large book of work that is dynamic and subject to changing business and technical priorities
• The ability to successfully manage relationships with colleagues at all levels in sometimes demanding contexts
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken (English) and ability to represent the Design team at a management level
• Strong experience in working with suppliers (internal/external)
• Experience of service management software and provisioning toolsets such as ServiceNow
• ITIL Foundation Certificate

Education / Qualifications Required:

• ITIL Foundation Certificate
• PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate
• Techinical cetifications (RedHAT/Oracle/Microsoft/VMWare etc)
• Cloud architect (preferred but not mandate)

Background/ Work Experience:

• Preferably prior experience from a Financial Services/Investment Banking environment
• A proven record of delivering application infrastructure designs and solutions to agreed standards
• Solid experience is required in an IT development/support environment in a large multi-site organization
• Strong experience in working with suppliers (internal/external)
• Strong exposure to and some experience in IT/application deployment/implementation management
