Role Summary

The

Proposal Engineer

will be responsible for preparing techno-commercial proposals for Rocksensor India's products and solutions, including sensors, transmitters, monitoring systems, and project-based instrumentation solutions. The role involves close coordination with sales, engineering, procurement, and customers to ensure accurate, competitive, and timely proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare techno-commercial proposals, quotations, and tenders in line with customer specifications and bid requirements.
Study RFQs, tenders, BOQs, drawings, and technical documents to understand project scope and requirements.
Select suitable sensors, transmitters, instruments, accessories, and system configurations based on application needs.
Prepare technical datasheets, compliance statements, deviation lists, and scope of supply.
Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and internal teams for pricing, technical clarifications, and delivery timelines.
Carry out cost estimation, margin analysis, and pricing strategy in coordination with sales and management.
Respond to technical and commercial queries from clients during pre-bid and post-bid stages.
Support the sales team in client meetings, technical presentations, and negotiations, as required.
Maintain proper proposal documentation, version control, and bid records.
Ensure proposals comply with quality standards, company policies, and customer timelines.
Support handover of awarded projects to the execution team with complete documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Min. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B/Tech/ B.E. - Instrumentation / Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics or related field only).
1-2 years of experience in proposal engineering, estimation, or pre-sales for instrumentation, sensors, or industrial projects.
Experience in process instrumentation, monitoring systems, water, infrastructure, oil & gas, or industrial projects is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of industrial sensors, transmitters, and field instruments especially pressure transmitters, various types of flowmeters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, etc. For more details, visit www.rocksensor.in.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, P&IDs, GA drawings, and BOQs.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for proposal preparation and cost analysis.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and time management.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
Knowledge of tendering portals (GeM / e-procurement) will be an added advantage.
