Operations & Guest Experience

Manage daily hostel operations, including reception, reservations, check-ins and check-outs Ensure excellent guest service and a friendly, social backpacker atmosphere Handle guest inquiries, feedback, complaints, and reviews (Booking.com, Hostelworld, Airbnb, etc.) Organize or coordinate social activities, tours, and events for guests

Property & Facilities Management

Oversee housekeeping standards for dorms, private rooms, common areas, and bathrooms Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and safety checks Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards

Staff Management

train, schedule, and supervise hostel staff Manage staff performance, attendance, and discipline Foster a positive, multicultural team environment

Financial & Administrative Duties

Manage budgets, daily cash flow, and expense control Monitor occupancy rates and implement pricing strategies Prepare operational reports for ownership Ensure proper record-keeping and basic accounting

Sales, Marketing & Bookings

Manage online booking platforms and channel managers Optimize room listings, pricing, and promotions Coordinate marketing efforts and partnerships with tour operators Monitor and respond to online reviews and feedback

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with local regulations and licensing requirements Coordinate tax, levy, and statutory obligations (where applicable) Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or related field Or Any Graduation. Previous experience managing a hostel, backpacker, hotel, or lodge Strong leadership and people-management skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Financial management and budgeting knowledge Tech-savvy with booking systems and basic accounting tools Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
