Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Social Science Proofreader
with a strong
English-medium academic background
and
prior experience in the publishing industry
. The role focuses on proofreading and verifying content related to
History, Civics, and Geography only
.
Economics knowledge is not required
for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Proofread
Social Science textbooks and academic manuscripts
related to
History, Civics, and Geography
.
Ensure factual accuracy of historical events, dates, places, maps, and terminology.
Check correctness of civic concepts, constitutional terms, and political terminology.
Verify geographical facts including locations, maps, diagrams, tables, and data.
Correct grammatical, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors.
Ensure consistency with curriculum guidelines and editorial standards.
Coordinate with editors, authors, and production teams for corrections.
Meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Mandatory Requirements
English medium education background (mandatory).
Strong subject knowledge of History, Civics, and Geography.
2-5 years of experience in the publishing industry
as a proofreader/editor.
Excellent command of written English.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with proofreading marks and publishing workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Social Science / History / Geography / Political Science.
Experience working on
CBSE / ICSE / IGCSE Social Science textbooks
.
Knowledge of academic style guides and editorial standards.
