We are looking for motivated individuals with knowledge and experience in
drip irrigation systems
to support the implementation, operation, and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure in agricultural projects. The candidate will work directly with farmers, field staff, and engineers to ensure efficient water use and improved crop productivity through modern irrigation techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the
installation and maintenance
of drip irrigation systems.
Conduct
site surveys
and help in system layout design based on crop and soil type.
Monitor water distribution and ensure
uniform coverage
across fields.
Perform
leak detection, flushing, and cleaning
of emitters and pipelines.
Train farmers and field workers on
efficient water use
and
system operation
.
Maintain logs of system performance, repairs, and water usage.
Work with agronomists or project leads to align irrigation schedules with crop needs.
Report issues and suggest improvements for system efficiency.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of drip and micro-irrigation components (e.g., emitters, filters, valves).
Ability to read and interpret
irrigation system layouts and technical drawings
.
Basic plumbing and troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of crop water requirements.
Experience using
water management tools or sensors
(optional).
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Educational Qualification:
ITI / Diploma in Agriculture, Irrigation Technology.
B.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related fields (preferred for supervisory roles).
Certification in micro-irrigation or water management is a strong advantage
Experience:
Entry-level
: 0-2 years with basic knowledge or training in irrigation.
Work Environment:
Mostly
outdoor fieldwork
in rural/agricultural settings.
Regular travel between project sites and farmer fields.
Occasional office work for reporting and planning.
