Job Description

A Planning Engineer in real estate is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely delivery of residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments. The role integrates planning, cost control, coordination, and reporting across design, procurement, and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

Develop

master project schedules

and detailed work programs (baseline & revisions) Prepare

construction sequencing and phasing plans

Monitor progress against schedule and identify delays or risks Perform

critical path analysis (CPM)

and time impact analysis (TIA) Coordinate with

design, procurement, contracts, and site teams

Prepare

weekly and monthly progress reports

for management and clients Support

claims, extensions of time (EOT)

, and recovery schedules Track milestones, cash flow forecasts, and resource loading Ensure schedules align with

contracts, permits, and approvals

Participate in project meetings and provide planning insights

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in

Civil Engineering

, Construction Management, or related field 3-10+ years of experience in

real estate or construction projects

Experience with

high-rise, residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments

PMP or Planning certifications (preferred)
