JOB OVERVIEW:
The Project Officer will play a central role in implementing EMPBindi's Climate Smart Village and renewable energy initiatives across selected villages in Karnataka. The position involves close coordination with field teams, community stakeholders, and technical partners to ensure effective delivery of project components such as solar electrification, green livelihoods, and climate education. The role demands strong organizational, field coordination, and reporting skills with a focus on community engagement and results-based implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Project Implementation
? Plan and execute project activities including solar installations, livelihood interventions, and waste management initiatives.
? Supervise and support field coordinators to ensure timely and quality delivery of assigned tasks.
? Ensure all project deliverables are achieved as per work plans and donor requirements.
? Support technical teams in installation and maintenance of solar systems at schools, Anganwadis, and PHCs.
2. Community and Stakeholder Engagement
? Liaise with Gram Panchayats, SHGs, schools, and local institutions to mobilize community participation.
? Conduct village-level meetings, awareness sessions, and training programs for beneficiaries.
? Coordinate with vendors, local government representatives, and other partners to facilitate smooth field operations.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
? Collect and validate field data including installation details, training participation, and enterprise outcomes.
? Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports with field photographs and beneficiary records.
? Identify operational challenges and share feedback with the Assistant Project Manager for corrective actions.
4. Capacity Building
? Facilitate training programs on solar entrepreneurship, digital and financial literacy, and climate resilience.
? Support skill development sessions for women's groups, youth, and local technicians.
? Document success stories, impact highlights, and community learning outcomes.
5. Operational Support
? Coordinate logistics, procurement, and timely distribution of project equipment and materials.
? Track field-level expenses and ensure compliance with organizational financial protocols.
? Maintain inventory and ensure upkeep of installed solar systems and livelihood tools.
PREFERRED PROFILE:
? Graduate or Postgraduate in Rural Development, Social Work, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.
? 1-3 years of experience in implementing community-based projects within renewable energy, rural livelihoods, or CSR sectors.
? Strong communication and facilitation skills in Kannada and English; working knowledge of Hindi preferred.
? Hands-on understanding of solar systems, women-led enterprises, and sustainable livelihoods.
? Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and digital data collection tools.
? Willingness to travel frequently to rural field locations.
? Strong organizational, problem-solving, and team coordination abilities.
