Job Description

Project Officer, MOHAN Foundation, Manipal (Females Only)MOHAN (an acronym for Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network) Foundation is a not-for- profit, non-governmental organization established in 1997 in Chennai to promote deceased organ donation in the country in the light of growing incidence of end stage organ failure and contrasting shortage of organs.The objectives of MOHAN Foundation are:
? To create public education on organ donation among a cross section of population
? Create hospital tie-ups and to counsel families of "brain dead' patients to donate
organs to save the lives of others
? Train medical and para- medical professionals in facilitating organ donation
? Liaise with government to pass favourable legislationsWe are looking for someone, preferably with experience in the NGO sector, who feels
comfortable working in all aspects of the organization (e.g. working outside the scope ofyour work). The preferred candidate will be a "people's person" and enthusiastic in theirapproach to the work.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Public Education & Media Relations - Create public education and awareness through audio-visual presentations, participating in events and exhibitions etc., develop rapport with media and project positive stories on organ donation on an ongoing basis, create synergies with organizations that may be interested in spreading organ donation message, represent the organization in related meetings and conferences
Fund Raising - Identify funding bodies and individuals that can support the work of MOHAN Foundation locally
Create linkages - Establish and maintain relationships and linkages to enhance the scope and reach of the Foundation programs, communicate and network with various
stakeholders.
Documentation & reporting - Collate & prepare monthly narrative report of all activities of MOHAN Foundation across all offices in public education, organ donation counseling, training programs and other activities of the Foundation.Create standard templates for reporting for all offices.Writing powerful donor and recipient stories
Administration - maintaining database, records and reports and any other requirements for the smooth functioning of the office.Key skills and aptitude -
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Good presentation skills
? Good Computer skills
? 1-3 years of work experience preferably in an NGO or a hospital
? Good interpersonal skills are a must
? Person with creative ability and talent will be preferred
? An ability to work independently
