The Project Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end execution of Pharmaceutical / Hospital (Clean room / Air Conditioning (HVAC), ducting), air cooling and Fire / Industrial / Commercial Metal Door installation projects. The role involves planning, site coordination, team handling, quality control, vendor coordination and ensuring timely completion of projects as per drawings, specifications and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:1. Project Execution & Site Management
Execute HVAC, PUF Panelinsallation, ducting, air cooling and industrial/cleanroom/OT / Fire / Clean room door installation projects at site.
Study approved drawings, BOQs, specifications and project scope before execution.
Plan daily and weekly site activities and allocate manpower accordingly.
Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, standards and timelines.
2. Team Handling & Coordination
Handle site supervisors, technicians, duct fabricators, fitters and helpers.
Guide and motivate site teams for productivity and discipline.
Conduct toolbox talks and daily work briefings.
Coordinate with other agencies (civil, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting etc.) at site.
3. Material Planning & Control
Prepare material requirement plans (MRP) for HVAC equipment, ducting, insulation, accessories and doors.
Coordinate with stores, vendors and purchase team for timely availability of materials.
Ensure proper material handling, storage and minimal wastage at site.
4. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and relevant IS/ASHRAE standards.
Monitor installation quality of AHUs, VRF/Split/Package units, ducting, insulation, grills, diffusers and doors.
Carry out internal inspections and rectify snags.
Ensure safety practices are followed at site.
5. Client & Consultant Coordination
Attend site meetings with clients, consultants and architects.
Explain technical aspects and resolve execution-related queries.
Coordinate inspections, approvals and handover activities.
6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
Assist in testing, balancing and commissioning of HVAC and air cooling systems.
Ensure smooth commissioning and system performance as per design.
Prepare handover documents, as-built drawings and completion reports.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain site records such as daily progress reports, manpower reports and material consumption.
Report project progress, issues and risks to management.
Assist in preparation of running bills, measurements and project closure documents.
Educational Qualification:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
Candidates with relevant technical background and strong site experience will also be considered.
Experience:
2 to 8+ years of experience in execution of HVAC / ducting / air cooling projects.
Experience in hospitals, cleanrooms, industrial or commercial projects will be an added advantage.
Fresh but dynamic candidates with strong site exposure and learning attitude may also be considered.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ducting, insulation and accessories.
Ability to read and understand HVAC and GA drawings.
Team handling and leadership skills.
Good coordination and communication skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability at site.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel, email and reporting.
