Job Purpose

:

To plan, execute, and manage civil construction projects across the Velammal Nexus campuses, ensuring timely completion, quality control, budget adherence, and compliance with statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

:

Project Planning & Execution

Prepare detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets. Oversee all phases of construction, renovation, or infrastructure development. Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and consultants. Monitor daily progress and ensure adherence to timelines.

Vendor & Contractor Management

Evaluate and finalize contracts with civil contractors, vendors, and service providers. Ensure work execution as per agreed specifications and SLAs. Conduct regular site meetings and resolve site-level issues.

Quality & Compliance

Conduct quality checks at various project stages. Ensure projects meet structural safety, fire, electrical, and environmental norms. Liaise with government authorities for approvals, inspections, and certifications.

Budget & Cost Control

Track project expenditure against the budget. Optimize resource usage and minimize cost overruns. Approve bills and invoices after site verification.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain comprehensive project records - plans, drawings, vendor contracts, approvals, inspection reports. Submit weekly/monthly progress reports to the management. Highlight risks, delays, and action plans proactively.

Key Requirements

:

Educational Qualification

:
B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
Additional certifications in project management (PMP/Primavera/MS Project) will be an advantage.

Experience

:
Minimum 8-12 years of experience in managing civil projects, preferably in institutional, commercial, or school infrastructure projects.

Skills & Competencies

: Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, construction methods, and site safety. Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, project planning tools, and BOQ handling. Excellent coordination, negotiation, and leadership abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects/sites simultaneously.

Work Environment

:
Must be willing to travel across Velammal campuses and manage multiple ongoing projects. Requires both office and field supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?60,000.00 - ?100,000.00 per year
