Role Objective

The Project Manager - Machine Tool Center will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and stabilization of NMTronics' Machining Center operations. The role will support NMT Management in procurement, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of CNC & VMC machines, while building a high-performance production team to ensure world-class machining quality, productivity, and cost competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

Lead the complete set-up of Machine Tool / Machining Center, from concept to full-scale production. Prepare project timelines, CAPEX budgets, layout plans, and execution milestones. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and utilities for smooth execution. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
2. Machine Tool Procurement & Commissioning

Support management in selection, evaluation, and procurement of CNC, VMC, HMC, and auxiliary machines. Finalize machine specifications, technical agreements, FAT/SAT, and installation requirements. Manage installation, commissioning, trials, and production ramp-up. Coordinate with OEMs and service partners for training and long-term support.
3. Production Setup & Process Development

Establish machining processes, tooling strategies, fixtures, and work instructions. Define process capability, cycle time optimization, and productivity benchmarks. Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
4. Team Building & Leadership

Recruit and develop Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, CNC/VMC Operators, and Technicians. Define roles, KPIs, skill matrices, and training plans. Build a disciplined, performance-oriented production culture. Act as a mentor and technical leader for the machining team.
5. Quality & Cost Management

Ensure machining quality meets customer drawings, tolerances, and international standards. Implement inspection systems, SPC, and corrective action processes. Drive cost reduction through process optimization, tooling efficiency, and scrap reduction.
6. Customer & Management Interface

Act as the key interface between NMT Management, customers, and vendors for machining projects. Provide regular project status reports, risk assessments, and improvement proposals. Support new product introduction (NPI) and prototype development activities.

Qualifications & Experience

B.Tech / BE - Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory) Post Graduate in Production Technology / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering - Preferred Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in: CNC / VMC / HMC machining environments Machine tool procurement and commissioning Machining center setup from greenfield or expansion stage Prior experience in automotive, aerospace, electronics, or precision engineering industries preferred.
