Position OverviewJones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a dynamic Director, Projects at the P1 level to manage commercial real estate project portfolios with growing complexity and scope. This role represents a critical step in senior project leadership, requiring strong operational expertise, client relationship skills, and the ability to drive project success across diverse real estate initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Portfolio Management Oversee multiple concurrent projects of moderate to high complexity, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality parameters. Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and stakeholder coordination while maintaining JLL's service excellence standards across all assigned projects.

Client Partnership Development Build and strengthen client relationships through consistent communication, proactive problem-solving, and strategic advisory services. Serve as primary point of contact for key accounts, understanding client business objectives and translating them into successful project outcomes.

Team Leadership and Coordination Lead project teams including internal staff, external consultants, and vendor partners. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project managers while ensuring effective collaboration across all project stakeholders and maintaining accountability for deliverables.

Financial Oversight and Controls Monitor project budgets typically ranging from $5M to $50M, tracking expenditures against approved budgets and providing regular financial reporting to clients and internal leadership. Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for value engineering and process improvement.

Risk Assessment and Quality Assurance Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery. Establish and maintain quality control processes, conduct regular project reviews, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and JLL standards.

Business Development Support Contribute to proposal development and client presentations for new business opportunities. Support senior leadership in client pitches and participate in strategic account planning to expand service offerings within existing client relationships.

Required QualificationsEducation and Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field required. 8-12 years of progressive experience in commercial real estate project management, with demonstrated success managing complex projects and leading project teams.

Technical and Professional Skills Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and commercial real estate operations. Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent), financial analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. PMP certification preferred.

Leadership and Communication Proven ability to lead project teams, manage client relationships, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including senior executives, contractors, and regulatory officials. Strong presentation and negotiation skills with experience in conflict resolution.

Industry Expertise Solid understanding of commercial real estate markets, construction delivery methods, permitting processes, and industry regulations. Experience with office, retail, industrial, or mixed-use projects preferred. Knowledge of sustainability practices and workplace strategy advantageous.

Preferred QualificationsProfessional certifications in project management (PMP, CCM) or related disciplines. Experience with technology implementations, change management, or facilities management projects. Background in consulting services or corporate real estate environments. Demonstrated success in client retention and account growth.

Performance ExpectationsSuccessfully deliver assigned projects on time and within budget while maintaining high client satisfaction scores. Contribute to team revenue targets through effective project management and identification of additional service opportunities. Mentor junior staff and contribute to best practice development within the Projects team.
