Job Title: Project Manager - Special Projects

Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced

Project Manager to lead a cutting-edge drone development program for defense applications

. This role is responsible for end-to-end delivery of advanced drone platforms, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and ensuring programs are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with stringent technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and customer engagement, coordinating cross-functional teams and technology partners to translate mission requirements into operationally effective drone platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution:

Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with customer requirements. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts. Track progress against milestones, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies. Ensure delivery within agreed timelines, cost constraints, and scope.

Stakeholder Management:

Liaise with defense agencies, technology partners, and internal leadership. Manage expectations through clear communication of progress, risks, and trade-offs. Ensure transparent communication and timely reporting of project status. Coordinate technical reviews, design reviews, and program status meetings.

Technical & Quality Oversight

Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications, quality assurance standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality processes Support systems engineering activities including requirements management, verification, and validation. Oversee integration, testing, and acceptance activities, ensuring readiness for customer delivery.

Governance & Risk Management:

Establish and maintain program governance structures, reporting, and documentation Monitor project costs, forecast budgets, and implement cost-control measures. Proactively identify risks impacting cost, schedule, or technical performance and develop effective contingency plans.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams including R&D, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality. Align internal teams and external technology partners / suppliers toward common program objectives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Experience:



Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electronics) or related field; MBA or PMP certification preferred. Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams to deliver complex, hardware-centric development programs Strong knowledge of project management planning and tracking tools (MS Project / Excel/ Jira) and frameworks (Agile, Waterfall) Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and development lifecycles. Experience working directly with defense or government customers. Familiarity with defense procurement processes and defense quality assurance standards is preferred Retired personnel from the armed forces with experience in technology integration into defense CONOPs and strong project management background are encouraged to apply.

Experience with unmanned systems, aerospace platforms, or autonomous technologies. Familiarity with defense procurement procedures, technical and quality assurance standards Strong leadership and excellent written/verbal/presentational communication skills. Ability to build relations and influence key stakeholders Bias towards execution High attention to detail with a structured, analytical approach to problem solving. * Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
