JOB DESCRIPTION



Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a Greenfield manufacturing facility, from Basic Design through Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning, and Handover. undefined The role requires an individual with strong experience in Design Management, Construction Execution, and Project Governance, with specific focus on Safety, Quality, Timeline, and Cost control. The Project Manager will also lead efforts in delayed package recovery and Scope Change Order management across multiple project trackers.

TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES



Design Management (Basic to Detailed Engineering)



Lead and coordinate

Basic and Detailed Engineering

for WWTP systems -- biological, chemical, mechanical, civil, electrical, and automation.


Ensure design completeness and compliance with environmental standards, hydraulic requirements, and effluent discharge norms.


Review and approve

PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, SLDs, layouts

, and vendor documentation.


Drive interdisciplinary design reviews and ensure outputs support procurement and site execution readiness.





Construction, Installation, and Commissioning planning & Supervision



Manage and supervise

construction, erection, and installation activities

across all WWTP systems (civil, piping, E&I, and mechanical equipment).


Coordinate construction and commissioning with EPCM and vendor teams to ensure schedule adherence and safety compliance.


Oversee commissioning preparation, equipment testing, and performance verification (hydraulic, biological, and process performance).


Ensure complete and validated handover of the WWTP to operations and EHS teams.





Safety, Quality, and Environmental Compliance



Enforce

strict EHS compliance

during all construction and commissioning phases -- zero tolerance for unsafe acts.


Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards, including

ITPs, inspection checklists, NCR closures

, and test documentation.


Ensure the WWTP meets

CPCB/MPCB

and internal environmental compliance norms.


Coordinate with Safety, Quality, and EHS teams to maintain full compliance across project phases.





Schedule Control and Progress Tracking



Own and manage the

Integrated Project Schedule

for the WWTP, covering all engineering, procurement, and construction milestones.


Use

2W/4W/6W look-ahead schedules

to monitor site progress and identify bottlenecks.


Implement recovery plans for delayed activities in coordination with EPCM and vendor teams.





Cost Control and Forecasting



Implement strict

budget and cost control

across engineering, procurement, and construction activities.


Forecast monthly cash flow, align invoice schedules, and manage procurement commitments.


Assess and control

Scope Change Orders (SCOs)

for their impact on cost and timeline, ensuring necessary approvals prior to execution.





Scope Change Order and Vendor Coordination


Act as the

single point of accountability

for all SCOs and design changes related to the WWTP.


Coordinate technical evaluations, justification, and documentation for change management.


Manage vendor interfaces, ensuring timely delivery of equipment, drawings, and installation support.





Risk Management and Early Issue Identification



Maintain a

live risk register

for WWTP with active mitigation and contingency plans.


Identify design, procurement, or execution risks early and implement corrective actions.


Escalate critical issues proactively to avoid impact on construction or commissioning timelines.





Project Governance and Stakeholder Management



Lead weekly and monthly

project review meetings

, cross-functional alignments, and progress reporting.


Coordinate with

EPCM consultants, vendors, and internal teams

(Process, EHS, Automation, and Utilities).


Prepare dashboards, progress reports, and delay recovery plans for management review


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.


Minimum 15 years of experience in managing large-scale industrial WWTP projects ( 5000 m/day).


Proven experience in end-to-end project execution -- from design through commissioning.


Familiarity with EPCM delivery models, vendor management, and construction management.


Proficiency in Primavera/MS Project and project tracking/reporting tools.


CHALLANGES IN POSITION



Tight project schedule -- delays directly affect plant readiness and environmental compliance.

interface alignment between WWTP and other process/utility systems.
