3. Safety & Traffic Management
Implement and monitor
road safety measures
in accordance with IRC & NHAI guidelines.
Ensure availability and maintenance of:
Ambulance, cranes, patrol vehicles
Traffic marshals and safety equipment
Manage
traffic diversion plans
and incident/accident response systems.
Conduct
road safety audits
and rectify deficiencies.
4. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure all O&M activities meet
quality standards
and prescribed performance indicators.
Maintain proper
quality records, inspection reports, and checklists
.
Ensure compliance with
statutory norms
, environmental and safety regulations.
5. Manpower & Resource Management
Deploy adequate
technical staff, supervisors, operators, and labor
as per contract.
Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline of site staff.
Arrange training for staff on
safety, emergency response, and O&M procedures

6. Equipment & Asset Management
Ensure availability and proper maintenance of
O&M equipment
, including:
JCBs, rollers, sweepers
Ambulance, recovery vehicles
Weighing and inspection tools
Maintain asset registers and equipment logbooks.
7. Emergency & Incident Management
Lead
emergency response
during accidents, breakdowns, natural calamities, or traffic disruptions.
Coordinate with
police, fire services, hospitals, and local authorities
.
Ensure incidents are attended within
response time limits
defined by NHAI.
8. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and submit:
Daily, weekly, and monthly O&M reports
Accident and incident reports
Maintenance activity logs and compliance reports
Maintain records for
NHAI inspections and audits

9. Financial & Contract Administration
Monitor O&M expenditure and control costs within approved budgets.
Certify contractor bills, measurements, and work completion reports.
Ensure compliance with
penalty clauses
, KPIs, and service level agreements.
10. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Liaise with:
NHAI officials
Independent Engineer / Authority Engineer
Subcontractors and vendors
Local administration and utility agencies
Address complaints and public grievances related to highway operation.
11. Performance Monitoring & Improvement
Track performance against
KPIs and service benchmarks

Identify gaps and implement
corrective and preventive actions
.
Ensure
zero tolerance
for safety lapses and non-compliance.
12. Legal & Statutory Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with
labour laws
, insurance, vehicle fitness, and statutory approvals.
Handle claims, disputes, and notices related to O&M operations.
13. Leadership & Accountability
Lead the project team with accountability and professionalism.
Represent the company in meetings with NHAI and external agencies.
Ensure company reputation and contractual obligations are upheld at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in
Civil Engineering
(Mandatory).
Minimum 8
+ years of experience
in
NHAI Highway O&M Projects
.
Strong knowledge of
NHAI contracts, O&M manuals, MoRTH & IRC codes
.
Experience in
traffic safety, emergency management, and asset maintenance
.
Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Ability to handle inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
Proficient in
MS Office and reporting systems
.
Experience in
4-lane / 6-lane National Highway O&M projects
.
