About the Classroom Instruction and Practices (CIP) Team:

CSF focuses on education system reform using structured pedagogy and continuous academic support as crucial levers for improving student learning outcomes at scale. The Classroom Instruction Practices (CIP) team enables CSF's district and state units to enhance program implementation by improving the adoption of structured pedagogy resources, teacher professional development, and assessment-informed instruction. Position: Program Manager Foundational Numeracy Design and Implementation



Position Summary:

This role focuses on three key areas in designing and implementing Foundational Numeracy programs at CSF:

Developing Numeracy Curriculum and Training Content:

Design early-grade mathematics curricula and training materials, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices. Key outputs include: + Learning Outcome Frameworks, Structured Pedagogy Lesson Plans, Student Worksheets, and Formative Assessments.
+ Teacher Professional Development workshops and instructional video content.
+ Coaching and mentoring protocols.
+ Explainer videos, presentations, collateral materials, and nudges.

Generating Field Implementation Insights:

Conduct field visits and classroom observations to gather actionable insights by collecting and analyzing data on: + Teaching practices in numeracy.
+ Student learning outcomes assessments.
+ Academic support processes.

Building Academic Capacity:

Enhance the academic capabilities of our state and district teams by: + Conducting in-person and remote training sessions.
+ Facilitating workshops with government experts and technical partners.
+ Providing on-the-job shadowing and field coaching.
+ Leading train-the-trainer sessions.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

We are looking for a Mathematics Educator and Curriculum Specialist with Expertise in Early-Grade Instruction and Teacher Development

Qualifications

- University degree or fellowship

specialising in Mathematics Education

Professional Experience

:

i)

2+ years of mathematics teaching experience

in primary grades (15) within under-resourced schools.


ii)

2+ years of mathematics curriculum design

and professional development at a leading education service or non-profit organisation

Expertise in the Science of Learning Mathematics

, including:

i) Understanding learning trajectories of early-grade mathematical concepts/skills


ii) Applying the CPA/ELPS approaches for conceptual understanding


iii) Implementing strategies for fact and procedural fluency practice


iv) Addressing misconceptions and hard-spots

Expertise in mathematics curriculum and teacher training

:

i)

Designing Learning Outcome

Progressions

benchmarked against national and international curriculum standards


ii)

Creating curricular resources

, including teacher and student materials such as lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments

iii) Delivering teacher professional development

and instructional coaching through workshops, videos, classroom observations, and coaching protocols

Strong communication skills in both English and Hindi

- with fluency in reading, writing, and presenting academic content

Ability to get things done

- execute tasks efficiently, including breaking down assignments, adhering to timelines, multitasking, and ensuring accountability for deliverables

Openness to feedback

and a commitment to continuous learning from research evidence and field insights

Willingness to stretch and travel 810 days per month

to field locations in remote districts across various states.

Passion for making a scalable impact in education

and belief in achieving foundational learning for all children.

Compensation




Remuneration will be competitive with Indian philanthropy pay scales and will depend upon the candidate's experience levels.
