The Project Manager for Factory Commissioning will be responsible for the successful, end-to-end delivery of new factory and plant commissioning projects. The role requires meticulous oversight to ensure new facilities meet all design specifications, regulatory requirements, safety standards, budget constraints, and project timelines. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams and serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, vendors, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilitiesProject planning and management
Develop comprehensive commissioning project plans, including detailed schedules, scopes, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate internal resources and manage third-party vendors and contractors to ensure optimal allocation and project efficiency.
Monitor project progress, track performance against key milestones and budget, and prepare regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Manage project scope, schedule, and cost changes using established validation and change-control techniques.
Commissioning and technical oversight
Serve as the commissioning expert, developing and implementing testing and validation protocols for all mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
Conduct thorough inspections, testing, and performance verifications to ensure all systems are installed and operating as designed.
Review and approve construction documents, vendor submittals, and operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals for accuracy and completeness.
Lead the final handover process to the operations team, ensuring all documentation is complete and validated.
Stakeholder and team management
Act as the primary liaison between clients, engineers, vendors, and the commissioning team, facilitating clear and effective communication.
Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary commissioning team, providing clear direction, motivation, and performance feedback.
Foster strong relationships with all project partners to ensure a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
Quality, safety, and compliance
Enforce strict adherence to all company and industry health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards throughout the commissioning process.
Ensure that all factory systems comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct quality checks, track deficiency logs (punch lists), and ensure timely rectification of any issues discovered.
QualificationsRequired skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
