Job Summary

The Project Manager - Civil will be responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of civil construction projects within defined timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety norms. The role involves end-to-end project execution, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, manpower planning, contractor management, commercial control, and strict compliance with company HSE and quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution

Ensure adherence to approved project schedules and implement processes to complete projects within defined timelines, including preparation and monitoring of micro-schedules. Prepare detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) from the master plan (annual/overall project plan) aligned with BOQs. Take independent responsibility for overall project execution, including management of labour, staff, contractors, and client coordination. Ensure project deliverables are achieved without unnecessary delays through continuous monitoring and follow-ups.
Manpower & Team Management

Plan manpower requirements and allocate tasks regularly across departments and sites. Implement manpower planning to ensure adequate staffing across all departments. Select, train, develop, mentor, and periodically review site teams through evaluations and toolbox talks. Foster a collaborative, professional, and high-performance work environment promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Material & Store Management

Prepare monthly material requirements and obtain approvals from senior management. Conduct stage-wise material reconciliation and submit reports within stipulated timelines. Verify contractor material reconciliation statements and ensure attachment with contractor bills. Verify material requisition slips and process them as per defined procedures. Monitor day-to-day store functions and oversee stock movement, including: Inventory management Over- and under-stock utilization control Aging control Prevention of theft and wastage
Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with company HSE standards and develop a trained, safety-conscious workforce. Ensure quality and quantity of raw materials received at site as per approved norms. Ensure materials used and work executed comply with specifications and collect test certificates from vendors. Verify plans, drawings, and calculations for accuracy and report non-conformance to concerned departments. Act as the key technical adviser to contractors, subcontractors, supervisors, and operatives, including setting out, levelling, and surveying activities. Close all internal and external site audit findings and OFIs within stipulated timelines.
Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

Conduct regular weekly/monthly coordination meetings with management. Conduct monthly contractor review meetings at site to assess progress and resolve issues. Coordinate closely with construction, purchase, stores, finance, HR, legal, and operations teams for seamless execution. Establish and maintain a structured weekly cross-functional meeting culture.
Commercial & Financial Responsibilities

Ensure departmental profitability through efficient resource utilization and cost optimization. Review BOQ versus actual consumption on a stage-wise and monthly basis. Ensure timely verification and submission of contractor bills to concerned departments. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cost control reports, and forecast monthly requirements in advance for project milestones. Make data-driven decisions to maximize project and departmental profitability.
Vendor & Risk Management

Conduct market research, analysis, and benchmarking for improved project decision-making. Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage vendors, suppliers, consultants, and agencies as per project requirements. Negotiate and finalize contracts and commercial terms with vendors. Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures through proper hindrance records.
Additional Responsibilities

Maintain a robust document management and storage system for easy access to all project-related documentation. Perform any other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
