Job Description

- Project Management Consultant (Industrial Projects)

Department: Project Management / Engineering

Reports To: Director / Client Representative

Job Purpose

To lead and oversee all phases of industrial project execution -- from design coordination to commissioning -- ensuring adherence to time, cost, quality, and safety objectives. The role requires strategic leadership, stakeholder management, and technical expertise to deliver large-scale industrial facilities in line with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Strategy
1. Develop and implement comprehensive project execution strategies for industrial facilities (factories, warehouses, process plants, etc.).

2. Establish project goals, milestones, resource requirements, and performance benchmarks.

3. Create detailed project schedules using Primavera / MS Project and track progress against baselines.

4. Identify critical path activities and implement recovery measures to mitigate delays.

Design Coordination & Technical Review
1. Review and approve architectural, structural, MEP, and process design deliverables.

2. Coordinate with design consultants, process equipment suppliers, and statutory authorities.

3. Ensure technical integration between various engineering disciplines.

4. Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize cost and performance.

Tendering & Procurement Management
1. Prepare and review tender documents, scope definitions, BOQs, and technical specifications.

2. Evaluate bids, conduct technical-commercial comparisons, and recommend vendor/contractor selection.

3. Monitor procurement schedules, material submittals, and vendor performance.

Construction Management
1. Supervise construction activities to ensure adherence to drawings, quality standards, and safety protocols.

2. Review method statements, work programs, and manpower deployment plans of contractors.

3. Conduct site coordination meetings with EPC contractors and stakeholders.

4. Ensure early identification and resolution of interface issues.

Cost, Quality & Schedule Control
1. Monitor and control project budgets and cash flow in alignment with client-approved cost plans.

2. Review and certify progress bills, change orders, and variation claims.

3. Maintain quality assurance through audits, inspection reports, and testing documentation.

4. Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Safety, Statutory & Compliance
1. Enforce adherence to all statutory requirements, environmental clearances, and industrial norms.

2. Oversee the implementation of HSE plans and ensure zero accident targets.

3. Liaise with government departments for project approvals and compliance documentation.

Reporting & Client Interface
1. Provide regular MIS reports covering progress, cost, safety, and risks.

2. Maintain strong communication and reporting channels with client representatives.

3. Support client management in decision-making with technical and financial insights.

4. Lead review meetings and present progress dashboards.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover
1. Coordinate final testing, commissioning, and validation of all systems.

2. Manage snag closure, documentation, and as-built record finalization.

3. Ensure smooth project handover and post-handover support during defect liability period.

Key Skills & Competencies

Proven expertise in industrial project management and multi-disciplinary coordination. Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in project management tools (Primavera / MS Project), AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite. Deep understanding of industrial standards, codes, and construction methodologies.
Educational Qualification

B.E / B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (mandatory) M.E / M.Tech / MBA in Project Management (preferred) Certifications: PMP / PRINCE2 / Primavera / ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (added advantage)
Experience Requirement

Minimum: 15 years of total experience Relevant Experience: At least 8-10 years in managing Industrial Projects (Factories, Warehouses, Process or Manufacturing Units) Experience in PMC / EPC environments with full project lifecycle exposure
Performance Indicators

Project completion within approved timelines, cost, and quality benchmarks. Client satisfaction and repeat business potential. Safety performance (zero accidents / incidents). Accuracy and timeliness of project documentation and reporting.

Pay: ?80,000.00 - ?100,000.00 per month
