What You'll Do


The Finance & Procurement Product Portfolio plays a critical role at the intersection of BCG's Global Finance and IT functions. Its purpose is to deliver best-in-class financial systems that enable the organization to transact efficiently and responsibly; capture, enrich, and report core financial data to BCG's business leaders; and comply with the complex fiscal requirements of a multinational organization. The portfolio also ensures that its platforms provide exceptional user experience; align with BCG's global IT enterprise architecture and security standards; and minimize the total cost of operations. It embraces the latest technologies and Agile ways of working to enhance financial systems and deliver business value at scale.


This is an exciting time to join the Finance & Procurement Product Portfolio as the firm completes its global rollout of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. As the Project Management & Accounting Product Owner, you will lead the team responsible for best-in-class project management capabilities and accurate revenue reporting enabling finance teams across BCG's business lines to provide exceptional commercial support to consulting teams and senior leadership. This is a critical role as it has a direct impact on how BCG manages its client work, reports business performance and maintains a strong balance sheet.


You will own SAP's Project and Resource Management, Customer Master and Accounts Receivable capabilities in addition to Kofax (a 3rd party invoicing platform) and select internally developed tools that support the end-to-end financial management of client engagements. In this role, you will ensure accurate revenue calculations and recognition across all business units and have responsibility for SAP's weekly processing that supports statutory and management reporting.


Leveraging strong accounting and system expertise, you will deliver new capabilities, drive continuous process improvement, and mitigate financial and operational risks to the firm. This includes driving the value of SAP enhancements for the business and exploring how emerging technologies, such as Agentic AI, can enhance existing platforms and processes.


You will work closely with finance and business stakeholders to define a product vision, shape a clear roadmap, and maintain a prioritized backlog. Operating in an Agile environment, you will translate business needs into deliverable outcomes, guide product team execution, and track progress against measurable value.



Among your responsibilities, you will:


Deliver business results and customer value

Operationalize the product vision by connecting the dots between high-level business goals and specific initiatives Track product performance to inform future work Deliver on specific and measurable KPIs to be defined by your product team Support the Product Portfolio Lead in engaging with the funding process and managing the relevant

product budget



Serve as the voice of the internal client

Proactively seek customer feedback to learn and better understand their needs and requirements Translate the voice and needs of your customers (e.g., Commercial Finance Teams) into user stories, engaging users as needed Leverage empirical and qualitative data to assess feature performance and inform prioritization Determine tradeoffs involving customer value, cost, and speed to execution Represent customer needs to ensure they are understood and integrated into the Product Team's work Facilitate product demos to empower Product Team members with real-time feedback from customers


Oversee what is delivered by the Product Team and when

Prioritize work through a well-organized backlog of user stories and clearly communicate what needs to be done and by when Define and clearly communicate acceptance criteria for output based on business and customer needs


Support and enable the Product Team to complete planned work and deliver value to the business

Regularly engage with the Product Team to offer feedback on work-in-progress and clarify requirements Engage with Chapter Leads regarding resourcing and technical expertise required Provide feedback as part of portfolio retrospectives and encourage a culture focused on continuous improvement


Set an overall vision to direct and inform the Product Team's work

Work closely with the Product Portfolio Lead to understand and drive alignment on Portfolio's business strategy, goals, and objectives Translate Portfolio objectives into a clear vision (e.g., via KPIs, sprint goals) for your Product Team to influence the creation and prioritization of the backlog of work Share information about the Product Team's output and priorities with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across the organization


Enable the organization's way of working

Actively create and maintain a collaborative team culture based on BCG's values and Agile behaviors Model behaviors to support the organization's adoption of new ways of working including how AI can enhance productivity Support Product Analyst growth and development through informal and formal feedback as part of BCG's performance management process


What You'll Bring

Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner Proven knowledge of SAP S4HANA preferred or SAP ECC A passion for Finance with a master's degree in finance or accounting 10+ years of relevant experience in a global accounting or finance function Exceptional communications and stakeholder management skills Strong understanding of Agile principles and experience working in cross-functional product teams or delivery teams Divergent thinker who can converge ideas into tangible products Experience in consulting or professional services is a plus


Who You'll Work With

All members of your product team, for whom you will be their servant leader Two Product Analysts who will report to you and support you in your role Product Lead who will be your line manager and coordinate work across SAP product teams Product Portfolio Lead who will set the vision, roadmap, budget, priorities and OKRs for the Portfolio and subsequently, for the product teams Scrum Leads, who will act as your right hand to remove impediments and will assist you in preparing the required artifacts and managing ceremonies Other Product Owners within BCG, to share best practices and ensure alignment between product teams and culture Agile Coaches, with whom you will share passion for Agile ways of working Chapter Leads and Technical Lead for technical solutioning and delivery
