In 2004, the firm established its presence in the Indian market by opening the Bain Capability Center (BCC) in New Delhi. The BCC is now known as BCN (Bain Capability Network) with its nodes across various geographies. BCN is an integral and largest unit of (ECD) Expert Client Delivery. ECD plays a critical role as it adds value to Bain's case teams globally by supporting them with analytics and research solutioning across all industries, specific domains for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property. The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.

Who you will work with

This position is based in BCN's Gurgaon office and is a vital part of the Performance Improvement Centre of Expertise (PI CoE). The PI CoE plays a crucial role in assisting case teams in India and abroad with various cost reduction/optimization activities by offering a range of solutions, including Procurement (e.g., Spend cube, analytics, maturity assessment, vendor strategy), Zero-based budgeting (e.g., Cost visibility, Budgeting, Initiative tracking, client training), Supply Chain (e.g., Inventory Diagnostics, Inventory Optimization, Network Optimization, Manufacturing Diagnostics, Integrated Business Planning), as well as cost diagnostics (e.g., Value Calculator, Net Working Capital), savings, and PMI Analysis. The CoE conducts complex and advanced data analysis to analyze clients' data and generate critical insights to help achieve cost objectives. Over time, we have developed seamless solutions and employ powerful, dynamic visualizations/charts on various platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to showcase our results. The PI CoE is also involved in the creation of critical intellectual property (IP) that is valuable for new performance improvement cases globally at Bain.

About you

Candidate should be a graduate/post-graduate with strong academic records and relevant experience in cost transformation advisory, FP&A, procurement, supply chain or any other performance improvement roles Work experience range in case highest qualification is undergraduate studies - 5-8 years of relevant experience in industry or consulting firms Work experience range in case highest qualification is postgraduate studies - 3-5 years of relevant experience in industry or consulting firms Excellent analytical skills, communication skills (ability to deliver clear and professional presentations to senior stakeholders), team management and project management skills Demonstrated ability to work with MS Excel and PowerPoint Experience of leading team on complex projects Knowledge of AI, visualization and tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI (Python and any AI tool is a plus) Ability to deal with ambiguity, handle multiple tasks and dynamic case expectations

What you'll do

Project Leader leads a team of 1-2 team members of Associates on problem solving, work-planning, analytics, research, and overall content to produce client ready materials and generate business insights and implications. The position reports into a Manager/Sr. Manager

Own end to end case delivery of Value Calculator projects/deployments. This includes the following: + Assist case teams across Bain's ecosystem to analyze the problem and deploy the tool/solution
+ Understand client's data using P&L, ERP Systems, budgeting systems, supplier databases and purchase order systems to design the solution
+ Interpret client Chart of Accounts, General Ledger and Headcount data to ensure accurate analysis
Provide thought leadership and business judgment to drive insights from the benchmarking analysis on spend and headcount data, and assist case teams across Bain's ecosystem to analyze the levers/ methods for cost optimization across different functions Utilize appropriate research sources and analytical tools to identify and employ relevant data-driven insights for effective decision-making Ensure timely and high-quality output/analysis; conduct quality checks on the answers before communicating to the client Review and provide guidance to the junior team member/s on the ongoing cases Communicate data, knowledge, and clearly explain insights and implications for the client to the entire team Effectively communicate with BCN leadership/case teams/end clients and manage relationships Demonstrate a strong ability to quickly grasp various business domains, conducting research and analysis across diverse geographies and industries with agility and efficiency. Engage with Practice leadership on evolving IP/existing products; and ideate in developing new products/IP Provide feedback towards constant improvement and recognize team's development needs
