The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental policies for a luxury resort construction and operations project in the Maldives. The role ensures compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company policies to safeguard employees, contractors, guests, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & Compliance
Develop and enforce HSE policies aligned with Maldives regulations and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
Ensure compliance with resort-specific safety requirements and environmental protection laws.
Risk Management
Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning for construction and operational phases.
Implement emergency response and crisis management plans.
Training & Awareness
Deliver HSE induction and training programs for staff and contractors.
Promote a culture of safety and sustainability across the resort.
Monitoring & Reporting
Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
Environmental Stewardship
Oversee waste management, water conservation, and eco-friendly practices.
Ensure resort operations minimize impact on marine ecosystems and local biodiversity.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with contractors, consultants, and government agencies on HSE matters.
Act as the primary point of contact for safety and environmental issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Professional certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
Minimum 7-10 years of HSE management experience, preferably in hospitality, construction, or resort projects.
Strong knowledge of Maldives environmental and labor regulations.
Experience in marine or island-based projects is highly desirable.
