This Position reports to:
Senior Engineering Manager
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the to the Process Automation business in Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for:
Evaluates, selects, and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. Handles testing, installation, and commissioning activities. Prepares project documentation within one's scope of deliverables.
Assists in preparing proposals/presentations for engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
Supports the Contract Manager in change management (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
Creates work plans and cost estimates in one's area of responsibility. Reviews and approves scope, budget, and schedule for assignments and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost. Improves the effectiveness of work plans in collaboration with other functions.
Completes Power Management System-related risk and opportunity assessments and ensures implementation of resulting actions in one's area of responsibility. Reports any con-tract/quality/program/cost issues to management along with recommendations for resolution.
Collaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers. Provides technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.
Uses standard processes and tools applicable to one's area of responsibility. Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements. Reports process and tool inefficiencies and suggest improvement ideas. Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.

Qualifications for the role
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in engineering and commissioning of Power Management Systems (PMS), covering functionalities such as primary equipment monitoring and control, load shedding, load sharing, and synchronization.
Hands-on experience in designing substation network architecture of control systems and control philosophy for process/power plants.
Working knowledge of utility communication protocols like IEC 61850, OPC, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 101/104, TCP/IP, Prefab's, Profinet, Fieldbus, SPA, convergence of OT/IT, cybersecurity, etc. Hands-on experience with application engineering tools for any DCS.
Hands-on experience in configuring controllers, protocol gateways, and data concentrators on various communication protocols. Experience working with various manufacturer IEDs on IEC 61850 protocol, creating IEC, ICD, CID, and SCD files.
Bachelor's degree (4 years) or equivalent experience, and willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 70%. Valid international passport.
