The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end execution of commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction. With a strong foundation in engineering and a management-oriented approach, the Project Manager will oversee planning, site execution, vendor and contractor management, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
This role demands hands-on project leadership, technical understanding of solar systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring adherence to timelines, safety, statutory norms, and budgeted costs. The Project Manager will be a key contributor to Guna Solar's reputation for engineering excellence and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
Prepare detailed project plans, timelines, manpower allocation, and execution schedules.
Coordinate with design & engineering teams to finalize drawings, BOQs, structural layouts, and system configurations.
Anticipate risks and develop mitigation plans to avoid delays.
2. On-Site Execution & Quality Control
Lead site execution activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety protocols, and installation quality.
Conduct regular site inspections and perform quality checks for module mounting, cabling, inverter installation, earthing, and commissioning readiness.
Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and work with engineering/O&M teams for resolution.
3. Vendor, Contractor & Stakeholder Management
Select, onboard, and manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to scope, quality, timelines, and commercial terms.
Track contractor performance and supervise daily/weekly progress reports.
Liaise with customers, consultants, and statutory bodies (DISCOM/CEIG/Electrical inspectorate) as needed.
4. Material Management & Logistics Coordination
Coordinate material procurement, delivery scheduling, and site inventory management.
Ensure BOQ accuracy, track material usage, and minimize wastage.
Address shortages and replacements proactively.
5. Documentation, Approvals & Compliance
Prepare and maintain all project documentation, including DPRs, WMS, QC checklists, commissioning reports, and as-built drawings.
Coordinate CEIG/CEA approvals, net-metering processes, safety audits, and utility interactions.
Ensure compliance with state regulations, DISCOM guidelines, and industry standards.
6. Commissioning & Handover
Lead pre-commissioning tests, system checks, and synchronization procedures.
Prepare handover documents, customer training materials, and final reports.
Ensure smooth transition to O&M/Customer Success teams.
