Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

A Mechanical design engineer should possess knowledge of engineering and design principles and be able to find creative solutions to technical problems. Accountable for creating subassembly / assembly drawings using 2D and 3D CAD programs in accordance with layout or general arrangement drawings. Creation of detailed drawings from 3D assembly and AutoCAD drawings. Using an ERP system, prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the corresponding assembly. Accountable for providing the clarifications immediately during the fabrication or assembly stage of a component if any clarifications are required in the drawing for sub suppliers or in-house vendors. Responsible for the preparation of technical reports, design specification papers, and operational instructions.

Skills & Experience Required :

Experience Range : 4 - 6 years of experience in design & drafting, preferable in machine design. Qualification : Graduation in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute with good academic record. Exposure on PDM/PLM & ERP system is beneficial. Knowledge of 2D & 3D drawing programs & design programs such as AutoCAD and Catia V5. Knowledge of drawing rules and construction standards, GD&T. Knowledge of various materials, treatments etc. Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles for weldments, fabrication, Castings preferred. Proactive, team player and a good communicator.
