Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Project Engineer

with a dual focus on

Design

and

Procurement

for solar power plant projects (rooftop and ground-mounted). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar PV system design and be capable of independently handling component procurement, vendor evaluation, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities1. Design & Engineering

Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for solar PV projects. Prepare technical designs using AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, and similar tools. Perform energy yield simulations and analyze system performance. Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, and cable schedules. Ensure design compliance with MNRE, DISCOM, and IEC standards. Coordinate with civil and electrical teams for structural and electrical integration.

2. Procurement & Purchase

Identify and finalize vendors for modules, inverters, structures, cables, and BoS components. Obtain technical & commercial offers, evaluate quotations, and prepare comparison sheets. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and warranty terms with suppliers. Track material delivery timelines and ensure timely availability at site. Maintain procurement documentation and purchase orders in ERP systems (if applicable).

3. Project Coordination

Coordinate with the site execution team to ensure design implementation. Support project planning, budgeting, and cost estimation. Monitor project progress and provide updates to senior management. Ensure quality compliance and assist in inspection and testing of procured material.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of solar PV systems (rooftop & ground-mounted). Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope). Understanding of electrical design and civil structure basics. Experience with vendor management and procurement processes. Good negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Energy / Renewable Engineering. 2-5 years of experience in solar project design and procurement. Experience in EPC or IPP companies preferred.
