Project Engineer – Plastic Industry

Job Description

Purpose of the Role:



To lead and manage new product development (NPD), tooling, and production projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality compliance in line with customer and organizational requirements

Educational & Experience Requirements



Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics, or Polymer Engineering.

3 to 5 years of experience

in the plastic manufacturing industry with hands-on experience in moulding operations and project handling.

Job Responsibilities



1. Project Planning and Execution



Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements for new moulds, tooling, and production setups. Coordinate with design, tooling, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.

2. Technical Expertise



Provide technical input during product and mould design reviews for

Injection Moulding

,

Injection /Stretch

Blow Moulding

, and

Extrusion Blow Moulding

processes. Optimize mould design for manufacturability, cycle time reduction, and material efficiency. Review mould flow analysis, material selection, and part design feasibility. Support process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and production trials.

3. Coordination with Cross-functional Teams



Work closely with

R&D, Design, Tool Room, Production, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance

teams. Liaise with

customers and suppliers

for technical discussions, approvals, and progress updates. Collaborate with procurement for sourcing moulds, machinery, and equipment.

4. Documentation and Reporting



Prepare and maintain project documentation: timelines, progress reports, and risk assessments. Present project status updates to senior management and customers.

Required Skills and Competencies



In-depth knowledge of

Injection Moulding, Blow Moulding, and Extrusion Blow Moulding

processes. Strong understanding of

mould design, tooling, and material properties

(PP, HDPE, PET, etc.). Project management skills (preferably with experience in MS Project or similar tools). Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Familiarity with

APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other automotive/consumer plastic industry standards

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
