The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the successful execution of sheet metal fabrication projects, handling both internal plant operations and external site activities. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, monitoring project timelines, ensuring resource availability, and maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Engineer plays a key role in bridging communication between the client, design team, production, and site execution teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective, and specification-compliant delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling of projects.
Coordinate with internal departments (design, production, purchase, QA/QC) to ensure smooth workflow.
Oversee site activities and ensure proper installation, assembly, and execution as per design and quality requirements.
Monitor project progress, highlight delays or risks, and take corrective actions.
Ensure timely availability of materials, tools, and manpower at both plant and site locations.
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Prepare and maintain project documentation including reports, drawings, and material records.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards during project execution.
Participate in site meetings, inspections, and audits as required.
Provide technical support during project execution and assist in resolving issues
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2-3 years of experience in project execution, preferably in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, project planning tools, and site coordination.
Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Willingness to travel to external project sites as needed.
