Job Description

Position: Project Engineer (Civil)

Department: Project / Site Execution

Location: Korba

Reporting To: Project Manager / RCM

1. Role Overview

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for execution, monitoring, and quality assurance of all civil works including building construction, road work, foundations, structural work, finishing, and allied civil activities. The role requires hands-on site management, coordination with contractors, measurement & billing, and ensuring work is carried out as per drawings, standards, and timelines.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Site Execution & Supervision

Execute and supervise all civil works: building works, RCC, PCC, masonry, plaster, flooring, road work (GSB, WMM, PQC/CC road), foundations, retaining walls, drains, and structural elements.

Ensure work is done according to approved drawings, BOQ, technical specifications, IS codes, and project schedule.

Monitor daily work progress and ensure productivity targets are met.

Maintain site records, DPR, labour deployment, and material usage.

B. Drawings & Technical Knowledge

Read, understand, and interpret architectural, structural, and working drawings.

Proficient in AutoCAD for checking dimensions, preparing small sketches, and cross-checking measurements.

Report discrepancies in drawings or site conditions immediately.

C. Quality Control

Ensure strict adherence to quality standards for concrete, shuttering, reinforcement, compaction, and finishing.

Conduct cube testing, slump check, compaction tests, and other QA processes.

Check materials delivered at site as per approved specifications.

D. Measurement & Billing

Prepare joint measurement sheets (JMR), RA Bills, and quantity calculations for executed work.

Verify contractor bills with site measurements.

Maintain accurate documentation of work done.

E. Coordination

Coordinate with the Project Manager, client engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.

Handle site issues, ensure smooth work flow, and raise RFIs where required.

Attend client/site meetings and present progress.

F. Compliance, Safety & Reporting

Ensure all activities follow safety norms, method statements, and company policies.

Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and weekly updates.

Maintain housekeeping and safe working practices at site.

3. Eligibility Criteria

Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering.

3-10 years of experience in Building Projects / Road Work / Industrial Civil Works.

Strong knowledge of RCC, foundations, shuttering, reinforcement, quality control, road layers (GSB, WMM, PQC), and finishing activities.

Experience in measurement & billing is preferred.

Must have practical hands-on site execution experience.

4. Required Skills

AutoCAD

Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals.

Quantity surveying & measurement skills.

Knowledge of IS Codes & CPWD/DSR specifications.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to manage labour & contractors efficiently.

Problem-solving mindset and ability to take quick decisions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?300,000.00 - ?600,000.00 per year
