Experience Required: Minimum 4- 6 years in Hull Fabrication, Shipbuilding, or Marine Structural Work
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising hull fabrication and assembly activities for ships and marine vessels. This role ensures that all project tasks are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, class requirements, and client specifications. The Project Engineer works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams while monitoring progress, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
Lead and manage the complete hull fabrication and assembly process for ships and marine vessels.
Develop detailed work plans, project timelines, material requirements, and budgets for hull-related activities.
Coordinate daily production activities and ensure alignment with project schedules.
2. Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams
Work closely with engineering, production, quality control, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution.
Manage manpower allocation, monitor productivity, and oversee daily work control inside the shipyard.
3. Technical Review & Issue Resolution
Review and interpret fabrication drawings, technical documents, and specifications.
Identify, analyze, and resolve technical or production issues in a timely manner.
Provide engineering guidance to supervisors, foremen, and production crews.
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
Monitor progress and ensure strict adherence to class standards, engineering drawings, and client specifications.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations within the shipyard.
Conduct inspections to verify workmanship and ensure corrective actions where needed.
5. Stakeholder Communication
Liaise with clients, classification societies, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, material usage records, and technical correspondence.
6. Cost & Resource Control
Control project costs, track material consumption, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
Support accurate forecasting and reporting of project budgets and expenditures.
7. Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements to enhance work efficiency, safety, and quality.
Support the development of best practices, fabrication standards, and engineering procedures.
Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
