Job Description

Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, and budgets for electrical projects. Create electrical plans, specifications, and technical drawings using CAD software. Coordinate with project managers, designers, contractors, and other engineers to define project requirements. Review and approve technical submissions and engineering plans from subcontractors and vendors. Procure materials and equipment, manage purchase orders, and track project costs to ensure budget adherence. Prepare project proposals, progress reports, and other technical documentation.

Technical execution and oversight

Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and contractors throughout the installation and construction phases. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they meet design specifications. Conduct quality assurance checks and site inspections to ensure adherence to electrical codes, safety protocols, and regulations. Perform complex electrical calculations and simulations to validate system designs. Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the project and implement effective solutions.

Coordination and communication

Serve as a key liaison between the client, project managers, and on-site teams. Communicate project updates and potential issues to all relevant stakeholders. Work with regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Required skills and qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Professional experience

Proven experience in electrical project management, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Relevant experience often ranges from 3 to 5+ years, depending on the role's seniority.
